Does it help? A quick google search will yield a bunch of outrageous claims. The internet is great for providing us with information but anyone is free to write what they feel. I am here to shed light on the truth by bringing evidence from reputable studies (when available). Imtiyaz, S et al put vibration therapy to the test vs. massage and a control group in 2014. Another earlier study was done by T. Korda et al.
A brief summary of the evidence on vibration therapy: 1. Prevents DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) 2. Reduces LDH levels 48 hours post workout (markers of tissue damage). 3. Improves range of motion. 4. Improves blood flow post exercise. 5. Does not improve strength.
*for more information please read through the studies.
**Main takeaway: vibration therapy can help to improve recovery, decrease pain, and improve ROM. Plus it feels great! **
